Description:

There is a large roadway project underway to construct a new highway through a portion of the Kenai Peninsula, rerouting the Sterling Highway to bypass Cooper Landing.  As part of this project, the interchange between the existing Sterling highway and the new highway must be designed.  This project will involve all the major issues of a rural Alaskan interchange design, including significant grading and sitework, interchange selection, bridge type selection and design.  The project will result in schematic design (5%-10%) of the bridge and associated ramps and associated analysis of minor alternatives, such as ramp locations and bridge types.
