{"id":2595,"date":"2019-12-19T23:09:00","date_gmt":"2019-12-19T23:09:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/coeng.uaa.alaska.edu\/innovation\/?p=2595"},"modified":"2025-01-17T22:53:56","modified_gmt":"2025-01-17T22:53:56","slug":"eagle-river-reservoir-and-transmission-main","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/coeng.uaa.alaska.edu\/innovation\/?p=2595","title":{"rendered":"Eagle River Reservoir and Transmission Main"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>Student Members:<\/strong> Ryan Rosario, Russell Gingras, Brandon Shayan, Evan Rhodes, Alungoo Tumendemberel<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Faculty Advisors:<\/strong> Dr. Matthew Calhoun<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Project Mentor:<\/strong> Trevor Trasky, PE<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Description:<\/strong> <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Within Eagle River, Anchorage Water and Wastewater Utility (AWWU) bought a parcel of property last year to build a 1MG water reservoir on.&nbsp; We also have to construction about 7,000 feet of transmission main and make connections to the existing system as well as within the reservoir control building add a booster station to replace one that will be impacted as part of the construction.&nbsp; The project scope for students would look at site topography, determine how best to grade site to minimize a \u201csoda can\u201d view of the tank, look at pipe routing, explore potential impacts to private wells in the vicinity through review of geotechnical borings and well logs.
